Terms & Conditions

By using our website or requesting a valuation, you agree to the following terms regarding the sale of your vehicle to Magnet Autos.

1. Online Valuations

  • Estimates Only: Any price provided through our online valuation tool is an estimate only based on the information you provide and current market data.

  • Subject to Inspection: A firm offer will only be made after a physical on-site inspection by a Magnet Autos appraiser.

  • Accuracy: You agree that all details provided (odometer, service history, condition) are accurate. If the vehicle's condition differs from your description, we reserve the right to revise or withdraw our offer.

2. The Inspection and Offer

  • Obligation-Free: Our on-site valuations are provided at no cost and carry no obligation to sell.

  • Offer Validity: Any firm offer made after inspection is typically valid for [e.g., 24-48 hours], after which it may be subject to market fluctuations.

  • Requirements for Sale: To proceed with a sale, you must provide:

    • Proof of ownership (Registration papers).

    • A current Australian Driver’s Licence.

    • All sets of keys and service logbooks.

    • Bank account details for payment.

3. Payment and Finance Payouts

  • Same-Day Payment: Once an agreement is signed, we aim to initiate payment via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) on the same business day.

  • Outstanding Finance: If your vehicle has money owing, we can pay out your finance company directly. You must provide a current payout letter from your lender.

  • Negative Equity: If you owe more than the vehicle’s value, you must pay us the difference (the "shortfall") before the sale can be finalised.

4. Ownership and Risk

  • Clear Title: You guarantee that the vehicle is not stolen, is not a "repairable write-off" (on the WOVR), and that you have the legal right to sell it.

  • Transfer of Risk: Responsibility for the vehicle remains with you until the moment we take physical possession and payment is processed.

5. Fees and Charges

  • There are no hidden fees or "success fees" for selling your car to us. The price we agree on is the amount we pay, inclusive of GST where applicable.

6. The "We’ll Get You Home" Guarantee

We know that selling your car can be a logistical challenge, especially if it’s your only set of wheels. To make the process as seamless as possible:

  • Complimentary Transport: If you sell your vehicle to us, Magnet Autos will provide a complimentary transport service to get you home or to your workplace
